IDEA NS (Improving Diversity in Engineering Across Nova Scotia) is a provincial program that aims to improve representation of women and other equity deserving groups in Engineering and Computer Science at the undergraduate level.
Our Initiatives
Through funding from the Government of Nova Scotia’s Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, this program aims to improve diversity in Engineering and Computer Science across Nova Scotia (NS) through two main initiatives - ‘Hacking a Better Future’, and ‘Innovation Beyond Boundaries’.
Hacking a Better Future
An interactive activity will be conducted with high school students to show the potential benefit of Engineering and Computer Science on our future.
INNOVATION bEYOND BOUNDARIES
A traveling exhibit will highlight historic and new innovations from Indigenous communities and from other groups.
